Hi, I’m Dr. Jess
I hold a PhD in Social Work with a specialization in Family Studies, and my academic work focuses on the very same themes that show up in therapy: attachment, identity, trauma, and relational healing. Since 2015, I’ve supported individuals, couples, and families through a blend of clinical work, teaching, and research. I created Healing Grove Therapy Center to be a space where you can pause, reflect, and grow in a way that’s meaningful for them.
Many of my clients come to therapy after trying everything they know. You may have read the books, had the conversations, or tried to make the changes—and still feel stuck. I help people understand the deeper patterns that shape their thoughts, relationships, and experiences, so they can stop repeating cycles that no longer serve them.
The name Healing Grove comes from my belief that healing happens in connection—with ourselves and with others. A grove is a place where roots deepen and growth is sustained through connection. It’s also a space that offers shelter, stability, and the possibility of change over time. That’s the kind of space I aim to create in therapy.
This practice was created to reflect that spirit. Healing here doesn’t mean fixing what’s broken. It means slowing down, reconnecting with your story, and finding new ways to grow in the presence of safety, support, and meaningful connection.
In session, I tailor therapy to your needs using Emotionally Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method, family systems work, and trauma-focused, culturally responsive care. I also integrate tools from CBT, mindfulness, and strengths-based approaches depending on your goals. My style is warm, collaborative, and direct. I’m not afraid to gently challenge you when needed, because I know that real growth often lives just outside our comfort zone—but we go there together, with intention and care.
